Team 2022-2023

Drill teams are a big part of our unit. They compete in local and out-of-state competitions. They are expected to have the sharpest drill out of the entire battalion and they are a prime example of discipline and dedication. Clark’s Drill Teams are what make our school’s name a proud one to say. If you are interested in joining a Drill Team, they are held every week Monday and Thursday after school from 1430-1600. New members are always welcome!

Clark High School NJROTC offers nine different teams that interested students and current Cadets can become a part of - Academics Team, Air Rifle Team, Armed Drill Team, Color Guard, Cyber Patriot, Orienteering Team, Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drone) Team, Physical Training Team and the Unarmed Drill Team.

These teams, at an elite level, teach discipline, builds cohesion, foster and develop individual self-confidence, and promote a feeling of pride, fellowship, and loyalty to our Battalion, School and Community.

Students interested in joining Clark High Schools NJROTC should contact their respective grade level counselors.

ADT

Team, the Armed Drill Team specializes in acoustics and visuals as well! Instead of using the body, ADT is armed with drill rifles and drill with the rifles as well as spin them. Despite the rigorous drill and strenuous exercise, the Armed Drill team stands proud.

UDT

Specializing in acoustics and visuals, the Unarmed Drill Team utilizes beats. Beats are rhythms that may imitate pop songs or general cadences, and they utilize their body as percussion to make these beats by stomping their feet, slapping their thighs and performing sharp movements with their limbs.

Color Guard

As the team that bears the colors of our country, our state, and our unit, the color guard is a vital part of our unit. As the bearer of our nation’s colors, the team is adept at the sharpest of drill movements. Our color guard doesn’t just compete but they also serve as our community's symbol of patriotism; for that reason, our color guard played an important role in spreading our name among the community outside of school. Our color guard has worked with the school district, politicians, unions, and more in the service of our country and community.

PT

Team Commander - Cadet Lieutenant Junior Grade Aaron Ballard

Physical training team, also known as PT team consists of cadets who want to enhance their physical fitness in a team setting. Cadets band together while pushing each other to new and exciting limits of physical capacity. We compete against other schools to show our superior physical prowess and more importantly, dedication.

Air Rifle

Team Commander - Cadet Ensign Adriana Immormino

The Air Rifle Team is unlike any other team in the unit. The Air Rifle Team is the only team with functional rifles and they practice firearm safety with them. Air Rifles are to be treated seriously and professionally since they are loaded. They practice marksmanship in our unit’s shooting range and their target is slightly smaller than a palm. Undoubtedly, our Air Rifle Team shoots with precision and accuracy, often receiving high placing in competitions and postals!

Orienteering

Team Commander - Cadet Lieutenant Junior Grade Andrew Nuha

Orienteering is unlike any other team. Instead of drilling or quizzing, they combine the mental and physical aspects of survival into one single sport. Cadets must navigate through the wilderness with nothing but a map and compass, and run as quickly as possible during such a voyage. This sport tests cadets ability to think on their feet, and move on them at the same time.

Drones

The drone team is an applicational part of our battalion teams. Cadets work together to pilot drones similar to those used in the present day United States Navy. Cadets navigate their drones through obstacles and races in competition against other schools.

Academics

Team Commander - Cadet Commander Grace Kurian

Our Academic Team’s goal is to improve cognitive, academic skills. Cadets with good standing in the team will have a chance to compete in varsity quiz bowl competitions.
